Reports to

To support the Finance/Accounting department in daily and monthly responsibilities. 

What You Can Expect

Essential Functions

  • Support Government property, regulatory, and financial audit functions.
  • Enter divisional vouchers and review requisitions, purchase orders, and receiving documents for accuracy and completeness, appropriateness and conformity to policies, procedures and contractual agreements.
  • Assist with time keeping system support; supporting payroll function.
  • Assist with sales and use tax documentation.
  • Assist with billing for divisional shipments.
  • Support Accounts Receivable collections for divisional billing.
  • Support month end close.
  • Support paperless environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and photocopiers.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position at 40 hours per week. Typical office hours include Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, however these hours may vary based on workload and the manager’s discretion. This job may require more than 40 hours of work per week as the need arises.


No travel is expected for this position.


Required Education and Experience

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting or work experience equivalent
  • Solid understanding of Accounting debits/credits
  • Perfectionist by nature, with no tolerance for errors.
  • Skilled in use of Excel Spreadsheets
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • Must have excellent work habits with the flexibility to accomplish deadlines in a timely manner especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures
  • History of working in a paperless environment
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Accurate, swift and reliable data entry

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Experience in a manufacturing company
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, small company team environment
  • Experience and knowledge of cost accounting
